“At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished… it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.” -Denzel Washington

Red Cross

With my experience as a lead fighter pilot instructor and international commander, I joined the Red Cross to serve communities across the U.S. In various Group Activity Positions (GAP), I provide critical emergency support.

In the Sheltering and Feeding GAP, I assist communities nationwide affected by disasters like fires, tornadoes, and floods. In the Damage Assessment GAP, I help ensure financial support for those who have lost their homes. Locally, as a Disaster Action Team member, I support people facing emergencies in our community.

Youth outreach

As a child, I didn’t have access to mentorship or familial support for guidance meaning that I had to learn everything the hard way. It has become my mission now to help the youth around the world. It is his mission to support those facing similar challenges in the next generations. Hubert wants to leave behind a legacy of great, heart-led young leaders and entrepreneurs.

Opera San Diego

Volunteering at the opera and being a supernumerary is always an intense and very rewarding experience. Being behind the curtains and on stage gives another dimension of the beauty of the opera. The amount of logistics, planning, coordination, and the level of precision of every participant makes this experience very unique.

Year after year I have faithfully returned to the San Diego Opera since my first season in 2013.

My favorite opera is Carmen from Georges Bizet. It was my first opera experience at age 16 in Switzerland. I was honored to play on stage in 2019 with the San Diego Opera.

Community service

For more than 15 years, I was involved in leading local non-profit organizations. I was the CEO & Founder of Hanumanity Foundation, and then the Chairman of the BOD of Sean O’Shea Foundation, both 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. I led the program “1,000 smiles 4 Xmas”, raising 1,000 gifts for Christmas for homeless children and underprivileged families. My mission now is to empower youth to have a purposeful, positive, and fulfilled life.

Yoga Instructor

Yoga was a great practice to heal my body from 20 years of exposure to high G forces. It helped me to be more present, mindful, and focused. I wanted to share this practice with my fellows in the military injured in the line of duty. I became a yoga instructor and volunteered for many years at the Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Over 5 years, I have served and taught to more than 1,000 wounded warriors and injured service members.

Master Instructor

The biggest life transformation I have seen over a short period of time is during teaching scuba diving. It is so amazing to see a student being scared to breathe underwater and within a few weeks diving in the cold and sometimes rough water of the Pacific Ocean.

Scuba diving is one of my passion and it is defiantly the one that really helps the youth to grow, to expand their boundaries.

It is always a blessing to see the smiles of newly certified divers and see them empowered and confident in the water.

Scripps Dog Therapy

Bodhi is one of the oldest therapy dogs at Scripps La Jolla. He is been volunteering for more than 10 years. Every small gesture of kindness adds up. Spending one time a week a few hours at the hospital not only brings joy and ease to the patients and nurses, but it has helped me to see life as a precious gift that deserves to be cherished.
